High School Heroes Triumph in Third Annual Faculty Basketball Showdown

The High School Heroes defeated the Appleby All-Stars 49-34 in their first Faculty Basketball Showdown. In its third year, the fundraiser raises money for the senior class trip to Walt Disney World, this year for the Class of 2027. Teachers from Marathon High School battle Appleby Elementary teachers for the now-legendary Maple Jug.

The teachers vs. teachers basketball game was born out of a brainstorming session on ways to involve the community in student fundraisers beyond standard bake sales and chocolate orders. In its inaugural game, the event sold over 375 tickets in the first day of sales. 

Community partners, school staff, and students alike worked hard to put together this year’s successful event. Thank you to everyone who contributed and showed up to cheer on your High School Heroes and Appleby All-Stars!
